Quick answer

To merge PDF files, add them to KitFuse, use the arrows to put them in order and press Merge PDFs. All pages are copied into one new PDF that you can download straight away. The merged file contains no author or app metadata from the originals.

How to combine PDF files

  1. Add your PDFs.

Drag two or more PDF files onto the page or press Choose PDFs.

  2. Put them in order.

Use the arrows next to each file. The page count is shown for each document.

  3. Merge and download.

Press Merge PDFs, then download the combined file.

Private PDF merging

Most free PDF sites upload your documents to their servers to merge them. That's a lot of trust to place in a stranger when the files are bank statements, contracts or medical records. KitFuse merges PDFs with an open-source PDF library that runs inside your browser and is stored on our own site, so the documents never leave your device.

What's kept and what isn't

All pages are copied exactly, including text, images, links and form fields. Document-level extras such as bookmarks and the original files' author and app information are not carried over, which keeps the merged file clean. To take pages out instead, use Split PDF. To turn photos into PDF pages, use Images to PDF.

Tips for merging PDFs

  • Number your files (01-cover.pdf, 02-report.pdf) before choosing them; most devices then list them in that order, and the arrows fix the rest.
  • If a file has a sideways or unwanted page, fix it first with Rotate PDF or Delete PDF pages, or merge everything and tidy up in Organize PDF.
  • Merged scans can get large. Compress PDF shrinks the result for email.

Common reasons to merge PDFs

Job applications that want a CV, cover letter and certificates in one upload. Expense reports with a stack of receipts. Contracts with signed annexes. Scans that came out of the scanner as separate files. Tax and visa paperwork for portals that only accept a single PDF. In every case you end up with one tidy file in the order you chose.

Frequently asked questions

How many PDFs can I merge?

As many as your device can handle, up to 200 files. Large documents need more memory, so very big merges work best on a computer.

Can I merge password-protected PDFs?

No. Remove the password in your PDF app first.

Is there a watermark or page limit?

No. There's no watermark, no page limit and no sign-up.

Are my PDFs uploaded?

No. They're merged in your browser and never leave your device.

Can I merge PDFs on my phone?

Yes. Open this page in your phone's browser, choose the PDFs from your files app, put them in order and merge. The combined PDF is saved to your downloads.
