Quick answer
To rotate an image, add one or more photos and choose 90° right, 90° left or 180°. Tick Mirror to flip it horizontally, or Upside down to flip it vertically. Each photo is processed straight away. Download the images one by one, or all of them as a ZIP. Nothing is uploaded.
How to rotate or flip a picture
- Add your images.
Drag photos onto the page or press Choose images. You can add up to 100 at once.
- Choose the rotation.
Pick 90° right (clockwise), 90° left (counter-clockwise), 180° or no rotation, and add a horizontal or vertical flip if you need one.
- Pick the output format.
Same as original is the default. You can also save as JPG, PNG or WebP.
- Download.
Each image is processed as soon as you add it. Download them one by one or press Download all (ZIP).
Why photos end up sideways
Phones and cameras don't actually turn the picture when you hold them sideways. They save it the way the sensor sees it and add a small orientation tag that tells apps how to display it. Most apps follow the tag, but some websites, older Windows programs, printers and email clients ignore it, and the photo suddenly appears on its side. KitFuse applies the tag, rotates the pixels themselves and saves a file that looks the same everywhere.
Rotate or flip: what's the difference?
Rotating turns the whole picture around its center, like turning a print on a table. Flipping mirrors it. Mirror (flip horizontally) swaps left and right, which fixes selfies where writing appears backwards. Upside down (flip vertically) swaps top and bottom, which is useful for some scans and for photos taken through a mirror or a microscope. You can combine any rotation with either flip.
Rotate images in batches
If a scanner or camera saved a whole set of photos the wrong way, add them all at once. Every image gets the same rotation, and changing the setting re-processes the list automatically. When they're ready, Download all (ZIP) saves them in one file, each named after its original with -rotated added. For other changes to a single picture, the crop tool and the image resizer are one click away.
Quality and formats
Rotating means saving the image again. PNG output is lossless. JPG and WebP use the quality slider, which is set to 92 percent and is visually identical to the original in practice. HEIC photos are saved as JPG unless you choose another format. The new files contain no EXIF data, so the GPS location and camera details stay behind. Need to turn pages in a document instead? Use Rotate PDF.

Frequently asked questions
How do I rotate a picture 90 degrees?
Add the picture and choose 90° right to turn it clockwise or 90° left to turn it counter-clockwise, then download it.
Can I rotate many images at once?
Yes. Add up to 100 images and they all get the same rotation and flip. Download them together as a ZIP.
Does rotating a JPG reduce its quality?
The image is saved again, but at the default 92 percent quality the change is not visible. For a lossless result, choose PNG as the output format.
How do I mirror a selfie?
Choose No rotation and tick Mirror (flip horizontally). Writing in the photo will then read the right way round.
Why does my photo look upright on my phone but sideways elsewhere?
Your phone reads the photo's orientation tag, and the other app ignores it. Rotate the photo here once and it will look right in both places.
Are my photos uploaded?
No. All rotating and flipping happens in your browser, on your device.
KitFuse is a free collection of browser-based tools for PDFs, images, video, text and everyday calculations. Every tool runs on your own device, so your files and data are never uploaded. About KitFuse.
